Flip the
Script

A community of praxis for educators trying to fit hope and future transformation into systems built for the past.

The script we're all
still reading from

The world we're being asked to prepare students for keeps arriving faster than our nervous systems, and the systems built to support us, were ever designed to handle. Most offerings meet educators right there, in that weight, and add more to carry.

There IS something different. This is what we reach for.

The water we're swimming in

  • Volun-told to attend another training
  • Check the box, move on
  • One and done, see you next year
  • It's always been done like this
  • More to carry, less time to breathe

What we're reaching toward

  • You chose to be here
  • Praxis as the primary mode
  • A practice that deepens over time
  • Futures as something you build a relationship with
  • More capacity, more community, more possible

The story stays. The learning leaves.

The whole adult
ecosystem

Classroom teachers. Instructional coaches. Curriculum designers. Principals. Assistant principals. Department heads. District leads. Learning experience designers. If you touch the conditions in which young people learn, this room is for you.

You are not broken. Neither is the system. It is working exactly as it was designed. You, however, are paying attention. That's why you're here.

Each cohort is capped at 20 to keep it real. Intimate. Honest. Diverse.

The Winded Visionary
You believe in futures thinking. You believe in your students. You're running on fumes from trying to do transformative work inside a system that wasn't built for it. This is a place to put down the performance and pick up a practice.
The Curious Skeptic
You've seen "transformative PD" before. Your caution is earned. Come see what happens when the room is actually built differently. If it doesn't land for you, your feedback is the gift.
The Already-Doing-It
You're already running futures-oriented practice in your classroom or school. You need community, language, and a place to go deeper. There are more of us than you think.
The Systems Thinker
Curriculum director. Instructional coach. School leader navigating more than anyone should have to right now. You sit at the intersection of what is and what could be. This practice is built for people who think in ecosystems.

What actually
happens

Flip the Script runs on a 12-week arc, adapted specifically for educators and educational leaders. Each session is a living laboratory. A place where the moment you are trying to meet becomes the curriculum. Capped at 20 people so the room stays real.

01

Arrival ritual

One word check-in. You land before you learn.

02

World activation

Enter the week's futures frame. Different physics every time.

03

Main quest

Sarkar Sandbox, futures methods, and productivity practices woven into community crafting of the conditions to embody new cultures and infrastructures of care.

04

Me / We / Re-search

Something solo. Something shared. Something that carries. The sequence is the practice.

05

Artifact of the week

You leave with something made. A key. A map. A seed.

Go fast, go alone. Go further, go together. We're all in this together.

The Black Menagerie as your lens

Five archetypes from the Black Menagerie card game serve as the navigational lens for the cohort. Each creature holds a different relationship with emergence, uncertainty, and what wants to be born. You'll recognize yourself in them. You'll grow into the others.

Black Swan

What change is coming that we haven't named yet?

Black Elephant

What do we all know but haven't spoken aloud?

Black Jellyfish

What are we feeling in our bodies about what's next?

Black Turtle

What do we need to slow down with? Where is rest calling?

Black Sheep

What playful disruption wants to emerge?

Your toolkit for the practice

Some tools travel with everyone across the Quest Labs ecosystem. One is built specifically for the educator context.

Sarkar Sandbox

Modified from the Sarkar Game. The core session format: embodied, participatory, futures-generative. This is the room where it happens.

All

Quest Cards

Your 2032 Job Description, assembled one card at a time. Clocking into our dreams. Joy of Being. One card a month, building something you'll actually want to carry forward.

All

Black Menagerie

A futures literacy card game rooted in Afroasian methodology. Five creatures. Seventy-eight cards. Part game, part oracle, part praxis.

All

FRESH Cards

Focus, Relationship, Energy, Stimuli, Habits. Your personal practices suite for sustaining the inner work between sessions.

All

Wheel of Life

A whole-person diagnostic for seeing where you are across the domains of your life. Where is energy flowing? Where is it stuck?

Seven literacies.
One ecology.

Most futures literacy frameworks center cognitive sense-making. The ABCDEFG Framework works across a fuller range. Because educators don't just think about the future. They feel it, embody it, play with it, and generate it alongside their students.

The norms that make
the room possible

The story stays. The learning leaves.

What gets shared in the room is held in the room. What shifts in you travels with you everywhere.

Me-search before we-search before re-search

You are the first site of inquiry. Solo reflection before dyad exchange before collective sense-making. Every session, every time.

Play is rigorous

This is not a break from serious work. This is serious work in a different register. The experience is the gift. The play is the point.

We don't perpetuate legacies of labor here

You are not here to produce. You are not here to perform. You are here to practice. The pace is the practice.

Flip the Script and the
Quest Labs ecosystem

Flip the Script is the educators entry point into the Quest Labs ecosystem. It sits alongside FLIP (the general 12-week cohort) and Sandbox Sessions (open monthly gatherings) as one of three ways to go deep.

Sandbox Sessions

  • Monthly, open door, donations based
  • No commitment required
  • Leave with one artifact from the future
  • The first door in

FLIP Cohorts

  • 12 weeks, general audience
  • By invitation, mixed backgrounds
  • Full 2032 Job Description arc
  • Cohort 02 now forming

Flip the Script · Educators Cohort

  • 12 weeks, educator-specific context and language
  • Sarkar Sandbox adapted for classroom and staffroom realities
  • 20 educators maximum, Fall 2026 launch
  • ABCDEFG framework as the developmental arc
  • Quest Cards as your 2032 Job Description, built session by session

Spring Sandbox:
Breathe into what's coming

Before the Fall 2026 cohort opens, we're running a free series of virtual sessions for educators who want to taste the practice, shape what it becomes, and end their school year with something other than exhaustion.

This is co-design as care. You show up. You experience a slice of Flip the Script. You tell us what you need. And if it resonates, you're grandmothered into the Fall founding cohort before the doors open publicly.

20 sponsored seats available for the Fall founding cohort. An invitation for angel investors and educational enthusiasts to pay it forward and materially disrupt systems of oppression and harm.

Session A · 75 min

Sarkar Sandbox 4.0

The full immersive format. Futures generative, embodied, participatory. This is the room. Come feel it.

Session B · 50 min

Black Menagerie

A taste of the card game at the center of the ecosystem. Five creatures. Futures signals. Collective sense-making.

Session C · 30 min

Co-Design Conversation

What do you actually need as an educator right now? Your answers shape the Fall cohort. This is not a survey. This is a sandbox.

Format
Virtual, via Zoom. Each session stands on its own. Come to one, come to all. Sessions run May through July 2026 as the school year closes and summer opens.
Cost
Donations based. Pay what you can, pay what feels right, pay nothing if now is not the time. Registration is required so we can hold the space with intention. Sponsorships are open for angel investors, educational enthusiasts, foundations, and organizations ready to pay it forward and materially disrupt systems of oppression and harm. 20 sponsored seats available for the Fall founding cohort. This is the investment.
What you get
A real taste of the practice. A voice in what gets built. Feedback that matters. Spring Sandbox participants get first access to the Fall 2026 founding cohort before the doors open publicly. Grandmothered in means your Spring participation counts toward your place.
What we get
Honest feedback from real educators in real end-of-year conditions. That's the research. That's the co-design. We're building this with you, not for you.
